Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) - George Mason University

Child Development, Education, and Services - BA Concentration

Choose a career that lets you make a difference in the lives of children. Learn how kids grow and develop from birth to adolescence. Consider a concentration in early childhood development.

By choosing a bachelor's degree with a concentration major in child development and education you will gain an in-depth understanding on the unique physical, social, psychological and cognitive needs of children.

Students complete a 6-credit internship and integrate research training with service fieldwork. Such an experience is a critical component of the HDFS Child Development, Education, and Services concentration and further prepares our students for graduate education and diverse careers in the human development and family science field.
